Back up your notebook
Use your app’s export or backup feature to keep a copy of the notebook with your writing. Sync keeps several devices in the same state, and deletions may sync too, so also check that you have an independent backup. Keep a copy with your writing before moving to a new device, too.
Before changing pages
Before deleting, duplicating or reordering pages, keep a copy of the notebook so you can undo the change easily. If you duplicate a Daily Note to get more room, check afterwards that dates and pen-icon links still go where you expect.
Re-downloading the original file vs. restoring your writing
The original product file doesn’t include anything you’ve written since you started using it. If your records disappear, check your app’s trash or backups.
